Violence against women and girls is a devastating and
widespread human rights violation in our world today. Due to
stigma and shame, a lot of it goes unreported. We see it in:
• Intimate partner violence- beatings, marital rape,
killings
• Sexual violence and harassment – unwanted sexual
advances, child sexual abuse, stalking, etc.
• Human trafficking; child marriage; genital mutilation

CWN’s activity/ies to mark this period is being planned and
will be announced later this month or in early November. In
the meantime, I encourage you to become aware of the issues
and help us take action to create a world without violence
against women and girls.
